Mrs. Wesh has been named Eskimo Joe's Teacher of the Year! She will be driving this Janzen Toyota RAV-4 SUV this summer.  She and her class received prizes from Eskimo Joe's.  Nikki Owens, currently a SHS sophmore and one of Mrs.Welsh's past students, submitted the winning essay selected by the Eskimo Joe panel.  Visitors to our school to announce the winner were Mr. Stan Clark, owner of Eskimo Joe's and Clark Enterprises, Mr. Juergan Janzen of Janzen Toyota, Eskimo Joe, Ms. Welsh, Buffy, and Nikki Owens.  Ms. Owens won a gift card from Eskimo Joe's. Highland Park students are awesome!

Mrs. Brien's School Counseling Corner
Our Highland Park counselor, Mrs. Brien, is available for individual and group counseling for students in addition to conducting guidance classes for all students.  The School Counseling office is located in the Highland Park Library.   If you would like to contact Ms. Brian please call her office at 533-6352.  If you would like to contact her by e-mail you may email her at:  sbrien@stillwater.k12.ok.us or go to "teachers" on this site.  She looks forward to meeting parents and students at Highland Park  Elementary throughout the school year!  Check out her counseling website for more information on our counseling program and links to helpful websites for parents and teachers.

PE:  Students have a great time in Coach Mastin's PE class.  Proper clothing (i.e. shorts or pants) and athletic shoes need to be worn.  Please help students remember to not wear flip flops, open-toed shoes or Heelies to school.  We like to keep our students safe.

What if Highland Park Elementary PTA earned a penny every time you searched the Internet?  Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online went to support our cause?  Well, now it can!

GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half of its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate.  Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo, and watch the donations add up!

GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall which donates up to 37percent of each purchase to your favorite cause!  Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, eBay, Macy's and Barnes & Noble have teamed ujp with GoodShop and every time you place an order you'll be supporting your favorite cause.

Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter Highland Park Elementary PTA as the charity you want to support.  And, be sure to spread the word!

Box Tops for Education

A HEARTY "Thank You" to all the HP supporters who carefully collect and donate.  The Box Tops for Education program allows Highland Park to raise needed money for projects and supplies for our students.  We earned $626.37 for the school year 2005-2006.  The following year we earned $844.80!  Last year we earned $887.50!  So far this year we have $500.50!!

Get the word out to your relatives and friends that they can help our school just by saving their box tops from food items they would normally use.  Ask them to give them to you and then come see us at Highland Park.  Stop by the office and they will help you with the donations. We will thank you ahead of time for your continued help and interest in HP students.
